Reading a possession date: what the dates in a brochure mean
15 October 2026
Every project shows a status and a date. They answer a simple question: how long until the keys are in your hand?
The labels
- Ready to move. The building is complete. You can inspect the exact home, and the date is today.
- Under construction. Work is underway. The date is a promise to the authority, and it can slip.
- New launch. Sales have begun, usually before most construction. The longest wait and the most uncertainty, often at the lowest price.
What to ask
- Which stage is the building at today? Ask for dated site photos.
- Has the completion date changed since registration?
- What does the agreement say if possession is late?
A longer wait is not automatically worse. It is a trade between price and certainty, and the right choice depends on when you need to move.
